I am glad to be back at my blog. I pulled back because I had to do some real introspection about my life, and where I go from here. Retirement does that to one it seems. One day you are working, the next you are not. I realized that one of the not so subtle social aspects of retirement, or any kind of unemployment, for that matter, is that you are no longer an asset to the capitalist/corporatist system. People look at you like "why aren't you doing something?" or one of the faves of the Tea Party crowd.."Why don't you get a job?" Some guy actually asked a friend who is also retired why he wasn't being a productive member of society. My buddy, who looks ten years younger than his 65 years, looked at him and said, "I can see that society already has enough assholes, so I am in re-training." Heh heh.
So anyway I did some serious looking within, played Farmville, read all 12 of Chris Moore's novels in 6 weeks, and meditated.
I realized that I had to feel productive, so I am back at the blog.
Tomorrow I will talk about the single thing that brought me out of my funk: Three Arrows.
